GMC Acadia
Well i kno this is a car site per se and most of us out there hate mini vans and have a dislike for SUVS. Do we hate crossovers? they are like mini vans execpt bigger and no sliding doors. This past weekend, we stopped in on a GMC dealership. Our 2001 Toyota Highlander has been aging gracefully and is due for replacement. I saw the Acadia, looked it up and it seemed promising. I told my parents and now they seem to be interested. My dad loves the Q7 but it is pricey. THe Acadia is an amazing vehicle. I always thought GM made excellent SUV's. they were quiet and rode smoothly. although quality may have been an issue, that is not the case with the Acadia. inside it feels very luxurious. Here's the part that gets me, it has a 3.6L Transverse V6 putting out 275 horses. standard stuff. the vehicle weighs 5,000 lbs but in Fwd it gets a gas mileage of 18 city and 26 highway. thats a number that our G35 RWD gets. AWD models get 17 city 24 highway. it has a 6 speed transmission. The power is smooth, it obviously isn't fast but when we test drove it we were all surprised. we were expecting a good ride but everything else shocked us. the brakes are powerful and stiff. the vehcile is very nimble and agile, little body roll and best of all it is reallly quiet inside. at 6000 RPM under acceleration it is quiet and doesn't sound like its struggling or fuel effecient. once u let off it has a quick short smooth shift. inside is very comfotbale. the thrid row is accessible and big. also you can sit in it and it feels just fine. my big bro and sis and i sat in the back and we're more comfotable in the third row then in the back row of the G35. lost of cargo space! I really hope my parents decide to get it. they seem to like it A LOT. i'l be happy because i hate driving the highlander. what do you guys think about it?
