S7 American's Super Car
I don't know if any of you caught it this weekend, but SPEED is running a hour long special on the development of the Saleen S7. The program is entitled S7 America's Super Car. I didn't really learn anything new but I believe it was interesting nonetheless. One thing that caught my attention was the amount S7 development that took place in Europe. Many blueblood superecar fans turn their noses up to any performance car produced by Americans. The program shows the level of cooperation that took place in the development of the car both here in the states and abroad. Also, it shows that the engine is not a pumped up Mustang engine. I've heard many negative comments regarding the S7 on this and other websites. Some may be accurate because I heard there were issues with some of the earlier cars. However, the recent road reviews I have read in several publications of current examples, especially the Twin Turbo, have been glowing. If your'e interested in the show check SPEED's website (Tomorrow (2/9) at 2:00 p.m.) for the next showing. It focuses on the development and launch of the natrually aspirated S7. The Twin Turbo is not mentioned until the end. Good stuff!
