LMP Engineering Can-Am M1C
Not a hot premiere, but I found it interesting. Info and pics from the official site ( www.lmp-engineering.de )
Recreating a 1966 racing legend...
The Can Am M1 C was inspired by the Mc Laren M1 C which raced in the 1966-1967 Canadian-American Challenge Cup (CAN AM). The M1C belongs to first series of sports racing car build by team Mc Laren. The original Mc Laren M1C, sold as Mark 3s, were generally powered by Chevrolet engines, although Ford or Oldsmobile options were also listed. The model was a further development of the M1B with a separate spoiler wing at the tail. Twenty-five were built and were sold in the USA as McLaren Elva Mark 3's.
...with advanced technologies.
Like the original Mc Laren M1C the Can Am M1 C build by LMP Engineering employed a steel spaceframe chassis with light alloy sheet riveted and bonded to it, forming undertray and bulkheads .
The overall objective for LMP Engineering to build the CAN AM M1C was to demonstrate the potentials of 3D-CAD hybrid modeling software techniques in combination with CAD/CAM production technologies such as 3D-Tube Laser cutting and bending, 3D-Machining, Surface Scanning and Recreation
LMP Engineering benefits from a wide range of automotive companies in Munich, Germany, specialsed in prototyping, body design and molding, surface modeling, etc..
