Opel Flextreme Concept
Opel Flextreme Concept is built on GM's E-Flex platform already used for Chevrolet Volt Concept.
It is the predecessor of a nearest future Opel hybrid car. Flextreme will become a twin of an American 'people's car' - Chevrolet Volt. The main distinction is got to be a badge... money wins again
. But, hopefully, it's not the one and only difference. As opposed to the Volt's gas engine, Flextreme may get a compact diesel engine.
As for the electrical component... Recharge time for Flextreme will be reduced more than twice - from 6,5 hours to just 3 on the same batteries. Why? Ha-ha, sooo simple! Just because of 220V tension in European sockets instead of 110V in American...
Will be shown at IAA '07, where further details should be announced.
