chip review...92 z28

i know not too many of you have 3rd gen camaro's but i know a few people here do and im sure ya'll have a couple friends who do so i decided to post a review of the chip i just installed. the chip is from performance resource and it cost about 200$ which is a pretty good deal. i was originally turned on to it from a magazine article i read on thridgen.org where they compared 5 chip manufacturers on a stock 89 z28 automatic and with this chip they managed to shave .6 seconds off the 1/4 mile time so for 200$ thats a performance bargain that is pretty tough to beat. installation: installation was pretty easy, you have to take out the computer box wich is under the dashboard on the passenger side. you also have to take out a little side panel on the upostlery on the far right to get the box to fit out and move some wires also to squeeze it out, but its pretty easy. then you take off four screws on the computer box to open a little panel and pop the old chip out and slip the new chip in. it took me about a half hour total, but if i did it again im sure i could do it in about ten minutes now that i know what to do exactly. performance: the car started with a lot more pep right away and just revving it while i was warming it up i noticed it was a lot quicker to rev and i was having a small backfire issue before most likely due to the quad tip platinum spark plugs i put it, but after putting the chip in there was no more backfire so i think it helped that. when i was driving it my butt dyno noticed a definiate increase in throttle response, when i was cruising along in third gear with the motor at about 2500 rpm's i tapped the throttle and chirped the tires a little bit so its definately a lot livelier. on pure accelleration it felt a little bit faster but it wasn't as noticeable as the throttle response test. overall i think it was well worth the money and i definately reccomend it. performance resource makes chips for pretty much all gm's ranging from the buick regal turbo v6's to all the small blocks and big blocks in all the fuel injected truck motors and on the newer lt and ls lines of car motors so anyone looking at chips should definately check them out.
